Open the Double Down Hand Properly
Here is the mechanic in plain words: you hold two cards, you add a second stake equal to your original bet, and the dealer gives you exactly one more card before the hand closes. That single card is the whole trade. You cannot hit again after doubling, so the rule rewards hands that already sit in a strong spot, typically a hard
9, 10 or 11 against a dealer card that looks weak. Table limits matter here. Our blackjack rooms show the minimum and maximum before you sit, and a double is capped by the maximum stake on that table. If you split a pair and then double on one hand, you are committing more than your first buy-in, so we show your running
total in the bet bar. Rules differ by table and by studio, and the option only appears where the provider enables it.
